Perched

When I get lazy with a bird or butterfly picture, I use the title “Perched” because it always works!

OK, that out of the way, this is one of the first photos I’ve taken with my new camera, the Nikon D5100. I did a little cropping and sharpening to really bring out the details on the butterfly.

So far, I am impressed with the Live View shooting mode, as it is much faster than the D3100 (what I had before). This isn’t necessarily WHY I upgraded my camera, but I was intrigued by the flip-out monitor… I like to take a lot of shots “looking up” and “from the bottom,” so I hope this feature works when I need it to! I look forward to seeing what I can do with this new camera!
